We’re baaaaaaaaaack!!! Welcome to “Baby Big Hair Blast” where we highlight BIG HAIR artisans and their muses:) Up next to the BBH stage and kckin of 2013 is Mommy Destiny and her SUPACUTE fashionista of a daughter “Aniyah”. O_O!!! OO-to-the-WEEEEEEEE!!!!! Can we say frododorably YUMMY?!?! Lawd all that personality in just the above pic? I could shut this down right NOW!! Where’s my PURSE *looks around* LOL! HHhhhhh.. Well, we were fortunate to “chat” down with Mommy Destiny and get the deets on that there sweet sugamuffin. Let’s get to it shall we?
Sssssstop! Too much cuteness!! We haven’t even started yet!!
BBH: What is your hair washing routine?
Aniyah’s hair gets deep conditioned with an avocado, coconut milk, EVOO, [BBH: extra virgin olive oil for my newbies] honey and colloidal oatmeal and washed once a week with Hello Hydration by Herbal Essence [BBH: Deeeeeeeeng, that’s DEEP! You ain’t playin! Sounds SUPAmoisturizing and lush like]. For the winter months she gets more co-washes than shampoo washes.
Now THAT^^^ is JOKEZ for days!!! AAAAACK!!
BBH: What do you find are the challenges for styling Aniyah’s hair and how do you over come them?
The only issue I had ever was coming up with new and inventive styles to try! My little Diva LOVE IT when I try new styles on her, joining the Beads, Braids, & Beyond community has really helped with that [BBH: You aint NEVAH lied. That’s our foundation too!! Hey Nik G!!! (peep the BBB Facebook Page too)]!
How can a child be this stankin FLY?!?!? OHGAAA! That updo is riDONKulous!!
BBH: How do you entertain Aniyah when styling her hair?
When styling, that’s “mommy and me time” we talk, she reads books to me or we go over that weeks lesson in math and or spelling [BBH: Aweee……, smart baby:)]. Very seldom does she watch T.V. because when I need her to turn her head and she is craning it the other way to see the T.V. does’t work and makes the process longer LOL! [BBH: Can’t have THAT!!]
BHH: What are your fave products these days?
My favorite products are MY HOMEMADE ONES!!! LOL I only use the Shea butter moisturizing mix I make and the distilled water leave in detangler I mix as well. I have been using my all natural mixes for 2 years now on my family’s hair with GREAT results [BBH: That is AWESOME!!! *all up in pics tryna eyeball mixtures* ]!
BBH: How does Aniyah feel about her hair??
Aniyah LOVES LOVES LOVES her hair! Daddy and I have many confidence building talks with her about her hair. She is happy with the hair she was blessed with. She is a smart cookie and understands that her hair is different and different doesn’t equal ugly [BBH: Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!! Great answer!!]. More importantly she believes that her hair is BEAUTIFUL!
Simply GORGEOUS!!! GIMME DAT BABY!!
BBH: Tips for wearing BIG HAIR or fave “quick” styles?
Aniyah’s two favorite styles are her Pompadour and Twist out… The weekends are her days to be FREE LOL! [BBH: Yesss!!] She can rock any style she wants and she ALWAYS picks the Pompadour or a Twist out [BBH: Aint nothin wrong with BIG HAIR baby, no matter how you fix it! TOO CUTE].
I got the ‘can’t help its’!!! Must…put…dat Baby….in…PURSE!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH! *zips her up*
BBH: Last but not least, anything you would like to share about haircare in general or hair experiences.?
I have learned that good and consistent hair care is a COMMITMENT and an INVESTMENT! One that I hope Aniyah will continue on with when she gets older.
^^^^???!?!??!^^^^ *passes out*
