Little Friends 10×10 art print by Mossy Rock Designs ($20.00 value)

HHhhhhhh.  I just heart this!!  Reminds me of BBH and one of her BFF’s.  Here’s a little something about this brand new art print and Katie Bradley, the artist:

I painted “Little Friends” (which is 22″x22″) for our little girl’s nursery – we are still waiting for a referral, adopting from Ethiopia. This painting was inspired by a picture taken by one of my clients, Margret Arnadottir. These two little friends are sitting on a bench in the sunshine, innocently and contently playing with pebbles. When I was a little girl I LOVED playing with pebbles and rocks. This painting was a bit of an adventure, because I painted on a different kind of paper – hot press instead of cold press. The paint reacted a lot different than I was used to, and it was much harder to get a clean wash. As a result, this painting looks much more watercolor-y than a lot of my other work. I had a lot of fun creating the little girl’s wonderful big head of curly hair… painting a ‘fro is tricky, but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

I.Love.Mossy.Rock.Designs!!   Her amazing work has been circling the natural blogosphere for some time now.  We love that 20% of all her etsy sales goes towards buying diapers, formula, etc for orphanages in Ethiopia.  This is good people folks.  We are ecstatic to partner with her!!! Please be sure to click on over to the Mossy Rock Designs Esty Shop as well as the  Mossy Rock Designs FaceBook Page to see more of her amazing works (getsa likin’!!!).  This number right here ^^^ certainly captured our heart:)  EEEK!  This will be one lucky winner!!!

  1. I love your site and these products :) The picture is adorable and Kinky Curly is a live saver!! Thanks for the opportunity and inspiration :)

  2. Sisterly friends…My two 7 year old daughters have been together since they were newborns… They share a family and not ethnicity…Kinky Curly gets us through the morning and out the door especially with a new baby brother who needs it too!

  3. I love this portrait! Love how it shows the meaning of friendship! Plus the little girl reminds me of my daughter! :)

  4. Love the portrait…we just got our referral for a little girl so it would fit our two girls perfectly and I need to try some hair care for our new little one!!!

  5. I love how thepainting shows genuine interaction among children regardless of their respective differences. Not to mention the colors compliment my daughters’ room :-)

  6. I love this portrait, it would be perfect for my princesses room :) . Love love love BIG HAIR <3 and kinky curly. We go through it quickly with my 3 yr old daughter and 9 month old son who both have big hair :)

  7. I love this portrait! From the beautiful colors to the meaning behind it! I have never used Kinky-Curly before and would love to try it on my own Baby Big Hair!

  8. Besides the cute tutus and her afro, I like that there’s friendship and sharing, not segregation. This is a great image of humankind accepting and loving one another. I think all children need to see images like this so that they can know that beyond black, there’s other ethnicities, and that we should love each other… afterall, we all bleed red!

  9. This picture shows that racism and hatred are learned…my son loves everyone regardless of their race and I intend to keep it that way!

  10. i thisk its cute and awsome how naturals can go out natural because its part of fashion now i love how we can embrace natural beauty

  11. Love the picture & these products…tbe picture reminds me of me and my best friend growing up! Would love to have it for my daughters’ room!!

  12. Awww, the BBH in the picture reminds me of my own little Chloe. We have a Mossy Rock Designs painting already, we’ll have to get this one to go with it.

  13. LOVE the portrait. Chloe, if you go on my page. I have a picture of my little girl and her best friend on “twin day”. According to them, they are sisters and look just alike in matching dresses and flowers. I love all the painting celebrates.

  14. I love the painting. The softness, the scene… It could’ve been my daughter and her best friend next door when they were littler (and she had less long hair and more of a poof). So sweet.. blondredhead at mac dot com

  15. We are a multicultural family…I LOVE this painting! It totally reminds me of my son and daughter…and how love is love beyond skin color. A discussion we have on almost a daily basis.

  16. I love the symbolism. This painting shows that kids are so innocent and accepting of others. We’re the ones that show them differences, and not that it’s a bad thing. But the differences we teach our children some times are cruel.

  17. I love the picture for my daughter, who is biracial and her BFF who is caucasion. It is a really sweet picture!
